Lenses
What is the best type of lens for you? Whether you need bifocals or trifocals, glasses just for computer work, for your occupation, or recreation, our skilled opticians along with your physician can help you determine the best type of lens for you. EyeHealth Northwest has an extensive selection of lens types made with the latest technologies such as:
- High-Index - A distortion free lens that is lighter, thinner and has excellent optical quality. Because these lenses are so thin, High-Index lenses are ideal for patients requiring higher power prescriptions or those who desire thinner more attractive lenses.
- Progressive - No line multi-focal lens. Progressive lenses allow a greater range a vision from far away to close up and everything in between without the visible lines of bifocals or trifocals.
- Polycarbonate - Thin, light weight, and impact resistant. Polycarbonate lenses are an excellent choice for active lifestyles, children and safety glasses.
- Photo Sensitive - These lenses in plastic or glass darken when exposed to ultraviolet light. They allow you to wear just one pair of glasses indoors and out, no need for an additional pair of sunglasses for sun protection.
Any of the above lenses can be designed for your personal lifestyle. These are only a few of a wide selection of lenses we provide.
In addition to the different types of lenses, there are many extra options for your lenses available such as:
- Ultra Violet Coating - UV coating helps to protect your eyes from the sun's harmful UV rays. Overexposure to ultraviolet light is thought to be a cause of cataracts and other eye problems. UV coating is invisible and does not change the appearance of your lenses.
- Anti Reflective Coating - Reduces the glare from light to help improve your vision, especially at night. It also reduces the reflections on the lens, so your eyes can be seen.
- Scratch Resistant Coating - A clear hard coating applied to the front and back of the lens to reduce scratches.
- Color Tinting - Lenses can be tinted almost any color of the rainbow. Color tinting is sometimes used to improve vision and glare or simply as a fashion statement.
