Charles J. Bock, MD
Dr. Charles
Bock is a board-certified general ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained
pediatric ophthalmologist who is available to see both pediatric
and adult patients in our Oregon City and Milwaukie offices. His
practice interests include all forms of pediatric eye disease and
adult strabismus, including pediatric cataract surgery and complex
strabismus in both children and adults. He also provides general
adult ophthalmic care, including cataract surgery. He is certified
by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American
Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
Dr. Bock was
raised in Portland, and graduated from Sunset High School. He was
admitted to the Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern
University, where he completed both his undergraduate and medical
education. Dr. Bock returned to Portland for his internship at St.
Vincent Hospital and Medical Center. He received his training in
ophthalmology at Duke University, and remained at Duke for his fellowship
training in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus. While
in residency, he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor
society, and selected Outstanding Ophthalmology Resident by the
faculty.
After practicing
pediatric and general ophthalmology for two years in Eugene, he
accepted a position as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Children's
Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Bock joined the
staff of EyeHealth Northwest in 2001.
Dr. Bock and
his family missed their native Oregon, however, and are thrilled
to be back living and working in the Pacific Northwest.
