Board Certified, American Board of Ophthalmology

Charles J. Bock, MD "When you treat a child, you help that child for a lifetime." Charles J. Bock, MD

Dr. Charles Bock is a board-certified general ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist who is available to see both pediatric and adult patients in our Oregon City and Milwaukie offices. His practice interests include all forms of pediatric eye disease and adult strabismus, including pediatric cataract surgery and complex strabismus in both children and adults. He also provides general adult ophthalmic care, including cataract surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.

Dr. Bock was raised in Portland, and graduated from Sunset High School. He was admitted to the Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University, where he completed both his undergraduate and medical education. Dr. Bock returned to Portland for his internship at St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center. He received his training in ophthalmology at Duke University, and remained at Duke for his fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus. While in residency, he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society, and selected Outstanding Ophthalmology Resident by the faculty.

After practicing pediatric and general ophthalmology for two years in Eugene, he accepted a position as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Bock joined the staff of EyeHealth Northwest in 2001.

Dr. Bock and his family missed their native Oregon, however, and are thrilled to be back living and working in the Pacific Northwest.
