Dr. Kunke graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Pharmacy in 1982. He continued his education at Oral Roberts University School of Medicine where he graduated with "High Honors". Dr. Kunke's Internship at Bethesda Naval Hospital was followed by three years in the United States Navy working as a diving and submarine medical officer. He completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. While working in southern Texas, Dr. Kunke was exposed to a tremendous number of diabetic patients, which has led to an emphasis on treating diabetic retinopathy in his practice. Dr. Kunke joined Eyehealth Northwest in 1995.
