Dr. Vallabhanath (or Dr. PV), a sub-specialist in Oculoplastics, joined the staff of EyeHealth Northwest in August 2000. He received a B.S. in Molecular Biology and his Medical Degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he graduated Cum Laude. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Medical Honor Society, Alpha Omega Alpha. He developed an interest in Ophthalmology when he was a Howard Hughes Research Scholar at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD while attending medical school. He was involved in the development and testing of prosthetic devices to restore vision to the blind. Dr. PV went on to complete his Ophthalmology Residency at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he developed an interest in Oculoplastics. To further his training, Dr. PV completed a two year Fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California at San Francisco with special interests in disease of the orbit and the use of neurosurgical skull-base techniques in orbital disease and periocular tumors.
