Why BOTOX® cosmetic?

Personal vision is more than simply wearing designer glasses or contacts. Personal vision is how we perceive ourselves in our world around us. Patients may choose to have FDA approved BOTOX® cosmetic for many reasons. Most often, BOTOX® cosmetic is used as a non-surgical option to accurately & effectively treat fine facial lines and wrinkles for both men and women. BOTOX® has proven to be the best non-surgical form of facial rejuvenation and is capable of producing phenomenal improvements in your appearance.

Reasons for Considering a BOTOX® Treatment:

  • Excessive facial wrinkles or expression lines.
  • Large wrinkles or furrows in your forehead.
  • Small wrinkles or “crow’s feet” around your eyes.
  • A vertical “frown line” or creases between your eyebrows.

In addition to cosmetic treatment and wrinkle prevention, BOTOX® cosmetic is also a safe and effective medical treatment for various issues including eye deviation, eyelid spasm, facial spasm, and migraines. Used for years in medicine, FDA approved BOTOX® cosmetic has gained alternate popularity for its proven effectiveness as an anti-aging treatment.

BOTOX® Treatments:

BOTOX® cosmetic is an injection administered by our Oculoplastic specialist & surgeon, Dr. Prashanth Vallabhanath. It works by temporarily blocking the impulses from the nerve to the facial muscles, thereby relaxing them. The result is the underlying facial muscles relax and the skin begins to smooth out. Benefits from treatment are visible within 3-4 days following treatment. Results typically last an average of four months. Patients may choose to repeat the procedure for continued improvement and results (typically 3 to 3 times per year).

During treatment a cream with local anesthetic will be placed on your skin prior to treatment, and ice will be immediately applied upon completion of the BOTOX® treatment. Typically a small amount of BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected into the area of the wrinkle.

Recovery Process

Patients generally return to their normal activities immediately after the procedure, however following the post-procedure guidelines will dramatically reduce the length and intensity of the recovery period. Patients should avoid engaging in heavy physical exercise, applying cosmetics, or laying down flat for a minimum of 4 hours after the injections. It is also recommended to avoid rubbing or massaging the injected area for at least 24 hours.

LATISSE LATISSE Eyelash enhancement treatment

Hypotrichosis describes the condition of having thin, light, inadequate eyelashes.

Prescription LATISSE is a treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker.

New innovation in lashes & growth.

LATISSE™ (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% is the first and only prescription treatment approved by the FDA for inadequate or insufficient eyelashes, growing them longer, fuller and darker.

LATISSE™ works effectively.

LATISSE™ makes lash growth possible because of its active ingredient: bimatoprost. Although the precise mechanism of action is not known, research suggests that the growth of eyelashes occurs by increasing the percent of hairs in, and the duration of, the anagen (or growth) phase. Lashes can grow longer, thicker and darker because bimatoprost can also prolong this growth phase.

Clinically proven results you can see over time.

LATISSE™ is easy to use, FDA approved and effective. It's a once-a-day treatment you apply topically to the base of your upper eyelashes. Patients in a clinical trial saw results gradually over time (starting at 4 weeks with full results after 16 weeks).

It's an innovation backed by research.

While LATISSE™ is a new treatment in eyelash growth, it was developed through years of research by Allergan, a pharmaceutical leader with over 60 years of expertise in prescription eye care products.
