Dr. Meier practices general optometry with an emphasis on contact lenses. He has expertise in specialty fits. With over twenty years as an optometrist and a background in civil engineering, Dr. Meier’s patience, persistence and precision enables him to create complex contact lenses of the highest quality and optimal fit.
Dr. Meier offers his patients compassionate care in a gentle and soothing manner. Part of what he values most about working at EHNW is the fact that he can offer personalized care with the benefit of advanced technical support and abundant resources. Additionally, he has the support of his partner doctors who possess a wide-range of expertise in many specialties. As a result, patients can truly have their comprehensive eye care needs met at EHNW.
Contact lenses have always been an area of great interest to Dr. Meier partially because of his own personal experience with them. “I always had a difficult time wearing contacts which stimulated me to try to solve my own problem.” As a result, Dr. Meier understands the importance of achieving the best fit for each patient.
Dr. Meier is dedicated to patient care and service. “The fitting of contacts, especially complex contacts, is partially a math game”. Fortunately, Dr. Meier has a talent for numbers. He couples that skill with a willingness to put in the extra time and visits that are necessary. “My goal is to find the lens that will cause the fewest problems for the patient and give the patient the best vision.”
Dr. Meier gives his best effort in his personal endeavors as well. Though he strives for perfection, he is humble in his quest. “I understand that achieving perfection is often unrealistic; rather, it is the journey that is interesting.”
When he takes time for himself, he has a variety of personal interests. He appreciates the relaxed aspect of the Northwest and is drawn to neighborhood restaurants and wine bars with great food. He has been a tennis doubles player for many years and competes on the local level.
