Board Certified, American Board of Ophthalmology
Dear Patients and Friends,
As many of you already know, I am retiring at the end of August 2019 from my practice at EyeHealth Northwest. The last thirty two years have been deeply rewarding, both personally and professionally. I’ve seen the small Oregon City Eye Clinic I joined in 1987 grow into a city wide practice with 36 providers, 12 clinic locations, 2 surgery centers, and an optical lab. I’ve seen tremendous advances in eye surgery, particularly in cataract surgery, LASIK and retina care. Using these advances to care for you has been a privilege, and I will miss seeing you in the o?ce. Physicians have more meaningful social interactions with a wider variety of people than many other professions. It has been an absolute pleasure to get to know each and every one of you, and I am grateful for your confidence in me.
Your transition to another ophthalmologist in our practice should be seamless. Your records live on our shared computer. Many of you have seen other doctors in the o?ce when I was not available, and your next appointment will be with someone you already know whenever possible. Also, we have added several highly trained, talented and personable younger ophthalmologists over the last few years, any one of which I would recommend for my own family. Drs. Bengzten and Flanary are general ophthalmologists like myself, Dr. Weber is fellowship trained in glaucoma and Dr. Radmall is fellowship trained in oculoplastics. We also have a new o?ce in Wilsonville, for those of you who live in that area. The phone number for all our Clackamas County o?ces is 503 656 4221.
I am looking forward to the time and flexibility retiring will a?ord. I hope to continue my volunteer work in overseas ophthalmology and have scheduled a mission trip to Haiti in January. I look forward to spending more time with my family, especially my three young grandchildren. I need to continue taming my garden, and hope to resurrect my tennis game.
Thank you for your many years of friendship and trust. I wish you happiness and good health. I am confident you will be in excellent hands with the doctors and sta? at EyeHealth Northwest.
Best wishes,
Brent Chalmers, MD

Dr. Brent Chalmers Reviews:
Dr. Brent Chalmers is my physician and he is tops. He removed cataracts for me and did an outstanding job. Their staff is helpful and cares. I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great doctor.-Yelp Review
Had a very good experience. Went to EHNW for eye exam and afterwards, the staff did good job at explaining my options. I was looking into Lasik and staff had me meet with the ladies who schedule and check my finances/insurance. Dr Chalmers and his tech, along with Amy and Michele made my stay easy and relaxing.-Yelp Review
