“These medical mission trips get to the core of why I went into medicine—to serve the needs of the neediest and restore their vision.”

Dr. Saulson enjoys using his medical expertise on his international medical mission trips. Since 1995, Dr. Saulson has gone seven times with NW Medical Teams to Oaxaca, Mexico.

“We are able to restore their livelihood.”

Dr. Saulson attended the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio where he was class president and a member of the National Medical Honor Society. Dr. Roger Saulson Reviews:

I've had great service at Eye Health Northwest. When my longtime opthamologist's physicians group was not included in my vision plan for LASIK and I wanted to explore the possibility of permanently correcting my eyesight, I asked that doctor for a referral within the plan and he recommended Dr. Saulson at EHNW. While I was generally a good candidate for LASIK, Dr. Saulson never pushed it. In fact, he recommended waiting because at my age (mid 40s) I was at a point where I would start needing help for reading and LASIK to correct distance vision would take some options off the table and possibly hasten the need for lenses for reading. I considered all that but eventually decided to have LASIK correction on both eyes and haven't regretted it at all. It's been 1.5 years since my surgery and I have better than 20/20 vision still don't need reading glasses (but I know it's coming). Aimee Russell, the staff and Dr. Saulson were very good at explaining the whole process and alleviating stress about the procedure. The post-procedure care was very good, with the doctor calling personally late afternoon/early evening on the day of my surgery to see how I was doing. The checkups over the next weeks/months made sure that everything was healing as expected. The waiting room for all the doctors was always busy but I never waited more than 30 minutes and once I was brought back to the room there was usually just a wait of 10 minutes or so. Pretty average or on the better side of average based on my experience with eye doctors. I would recommend Dr. Saulson for LASIK to anyone considering it-Google Review

Dr. Saulson and his team at EyeHealth Northwest are AMAZING!  I came in for a Lasik consultation and after many careful tests and evaluations I was not a candidate for Lasik.  I did have the option of PRK laser surgery with the same machine they do Lasik with and we opted for that.  Dr. Saulson also advised me to have what is called mono vision, which means one eye is corrected for close vision and the other distance. I wore contact lenses to test the effect for a month to see how it would work for me, and I did very well with it.  We decided to make it permanent with the surgery so I could be contact lense free.  On April 3rd I had my right eye done for distance.  I now have 20/20 vision in this eye with out corrective lenses.  On May 1st my right eye was corrected to leave my natural close up vision intact for reading and computer work and also some other hobbies I can now enjoy without reading glasses.  I am very appreciative of the care and expertise I experienced with this team.  I am delighted with the results.-Yelp Review

I got LASIK done by Dr. Roger Saulson through Eyehealth Northwest and I could not be happier. After checking my vision ONE DAY after my surgery I have 20/15 in the right eye and 20/20 in the left eye. It is absolutely amazing, I cant rave about the awesome results enough. If you are even considering LASIK I would give Dr. Saulson a call to set up a consultation.-Yelp Review
