Board Certified, American Board of Ophthalmology
Dr. Daniel J. Lee is a cataract surgeon, fellowship trained cornea specialist, and comprehensive ophthalmologist. His practice includes routine and complex cataract surgery, corneal transplantation (full and partial thickness transplantation including PKP, DALK, DSEK, DMEK), laser vision correction (LASIK, PRK), pterygium excision, management of dislocating or problematic intraocular lenses, and anterior segment reconstruction after ocular trauma. He also offers astigmatism correcting (toric), multifocal, and light adjustable lens (LAL) options for suitable cataract surgery candidates.
Dr. Lee discovered ophthalmology while working as an ophthalmic technician during college. He loved the field so much that he decided to apply to medical school solely to become an ophthalmologist. After completing his medical school training in Wisconsin, he completed his internship in Chicago where he was enlisted to help manage ICU patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Lee moved to Portland where he completed his residency training at OHSU. He then stayed at OHSU to complete his fellowship training in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery.
He volunteers his time serving on the Patient Care Committee of the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation (OLSHF), and donates his skills to providing free cataract surgery to underserved patients in the Portland area. He lives in Portland with his wife, two dogs, and two cats. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, gardening, cooking, and international travel.
