Positions
Ophthalmic Technician
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform full spectrum of technician responsibilities.
- Take and record patient medical histories.
- Prepare patients for examinations.
- Perform diagnostic tests.
- Take anatomical and functional ocular measurements of the eyes.
Qualifications:
- Enjoy helping others.
- Have strong customer service skills.
- Certified as a COA or COT is preferred.
Optometric Technician
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Record patient medical histories and help prepare patients for vision examinations.
- Assist with tests that help ensure the accurate diagnosis and treatment of the eyes.
- Explain treatment procedures to the patient.
- Educate the patient on proper care and the use of prescribed contact lenses.
- Maintain inventory of supplies, including contact lens trials and contact lenses.
Qualifications:
- Have experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- A minimum of one year of experience in an Optometric office is preferred.
Patient Coordinator/Medical Receptionist
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Schedule appointments.
- Check patients in/out of the clinic.
- Direct patients to appropriate areas.
- Verify insurance.
- Receive payments.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Enjoy working with the public.
- Dependable team player.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a medical environment and with Practice Management System are preferred.
Optician
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist patients in eyewear selections.
- Analyze and interpret prescriptions written by Ophthalmologists and Optometrists.
- Fix, adjust, and refit broken frames.
- Generate sales of eyeglasses and accessories.
- Educate patients on products and services that are available.
Qualifications:
- Outgoing and friendly personality.
- Dependable team player.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Experienced Optician with ABO Certification is preferred, or have the ability to become certified within 12 months of hire.
Administrative Assistant
Responsibilities included but are not limited to:
- Receive, respond to, and route incoming calls to the administration office.
- Maintain appointment schedules by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences teleconferences, and travel.
- Create and monitor meeting summaries and work plans. Prepare reports by collecting and analyzing information.
- Protect confidential information and use good judgment in sharing information in a manner that is consistent with job expectations and company policy.
- Run and compile reports from the Electronic Health Records System and Practice Management System.
Qualifications:
- Strong writing and reporting skills.
- Command of the Microsoft Office products with an emphasis on Word, Powerpoint, and Excel; Sharepoint experience is a plus.
- Must be highly organized with the ability to effectively prioritize duties.
- Ability to work a variable full-time schedule with attendance at early morning meetings and/or evening meetings 2-4 times per month.
- Ability to commute to different locations as needed.
- Sensitivity to dealing with highly confidential information and communications.
- Experience in a healthcare environment and knowledge of HIPAA regulations is desired.
