Dr. Julia Xia is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with specialized fellowship training in uveitis and ocular immunology. She has a particular interest in managing infectious and autoimmune eye diseases, as well as cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.
Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Xia graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University Honors College with a degree in Neuroscience. She then received a Fulbright Scholarship to teach English in Indonesia before earning her medical degree from Emory University. During medical school, she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society in recognition of her dedication to community service, including her work with Atlanta’s refugee population.
Dr. Xia completed her ophthalmology residency and uveitis fellowship at the University of Colorado, where she also published her research in leading journals such as the American Journal of Ophthalmology and the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Xia believes in treating every patient as she would a member of her own family. She values building long-term relationships with her patients and feels privileged to help preserve and improve their vision.
Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time outdoors—especially hiking, skiing, and traveling.
