As a little girl, Dr. Ta wore glasses and needed regular eye checks. She saw the same female eye doctor for years, and she developed a great admiration for her doctor. From that experience and knowing she wanted to help people through medicine, Dr. Ta became an optometrist.”I have always been interested in contact lenses because the technology is always evolving.” Dr. Ta offers her patients the newest options in vision correction and takes extra care to make sure each patient has an ideal fit for his or her unique needs and lifestyle.
Kind and thoughtful service is what Dr. Ta offers. She invites patient questions and involvement in the process of optimizing their vision. She understands that her patients want to know their options and have the best service, but they also want good value. She ensures that the patient is matched to the appropriate solution and is respectful of the patient’s ultimate decision.
Dr. Ta has an understated approach that is very calming and helps allay patient fears.”Some people will come in and think they are going blind, and they are actually fine.” Dr. Ta provides her patients with complete information and options that they might not have considered. If she believes there is an issue outside of her expertise, she collaborates with her fellow doctors as part of EHNW’s comprehensive eye care.
EHNW believes in ensuring the highest level of quality in every aspect of care. Thus, Dr. Ta welcomes the opportunity to share her knowledge and experience during her training of new medical technicians.”We depend on the technicians to be an integral part of the patient’s care. The quality of their services is an important part of overall patient care at EHNW.”
Dr. Ta is committed to volunteering her medical expertise to those in need. Since 2006, she has performed free vision screenings for athletes who compete in the Special Olympics. She has also participated in fundraising and community service projects for Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity. She also hopes to participate in an international medical mission trip in the future.
Dr. Ta met her husband, Alan, while they both attended the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. After finishing school, they happily returned to the West Coast. They enjoy being able to support each other professionally and personally. As outdoor enthusiasts, the couple likes to hike, bike and camp. Dr. Ta’s indoor interests include reading a good mystery or page-turner and cooking. And she puts a high priority on spending time with her husband and extended family.
