Originally from the Chicagoland area, Dr. Nellie Chung received her B.S. in Psychology at Loyola University Chicago and later pursued an optometry career at Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. She then completed a residency at the Puget Sound VA in Lakewood, Washington where she was trained to manage complicated medical cases, low vision patients, and surgical co-management. She developed her interest and passion for optometry after her mother had a retinal detachment, which motivated her to care for others like she cares for her family.
Although not originally from Portland, Dr. Nellie Chung has fallen in love with the pacific northwest after moving here with her husband who is a fellow optometrist. In her free time she enjoys trying new craft beers, cooking new recipes, and taking care of her ever growing houseplant family. She is proficient in Korean in addition to English.education
