A letter to Dr. Roger Saulson’s patients:
Dear Patients and Friends,
It is with much excitement and, admittedly, some mixed emotions that I am writing to inform you of my retirement at the end of this month. I have been in practice for 31 years, and at age 62, I am looking to the future for my next chapter in life. I have truly appreciated the trust you have placed in me for your eye care over the past three decades, and I am honored to have been able to be a part of your lives and to contribute to the well-being of so many wonderful and interesting people. You have blessed me more than you will know, and I humbly thank you for how you have contributed to the joy in my life. I have gotten to know many of you personally over the years, and you have been with me through trials and triumphs in my own life. Thank you for sharing your lives, your humor, and your wisdom.
As many of you know, I lead 12 cataract surgery mission trips to underserved parts of Mexico and Peru; thank you for your appreciation of this part of my career. I am most proud of what our teams accomplished on these sight-restoring trips. The personal rewards were life-changing for me as well.
Now it is time for me to explore some of my other passions. As many of you already know, I enjoy playing golf, hiking, kayaking, birdwatching, and traveling. My wonderful wife and I plan to spend time doing all of those activities, as well as being intentional with our time as we devote more time to being with friends and family. This past COVID year has taught me how important close relationships are, and I want to be more involved in the lives of those people dearest to me. I also plan to volunteer time to help those in need.
My partners at EyeHealth Northwest are an exceptional group of highly trained, smart, and caring physicians. There is no better ophthalmology practice in the Pacific Northwest, and I am confident that my partners will continue to care for your eyes with the same dedication and expertise that you have already come to expect from all of us.
Again, I thank you for your trust, and I wish you good health and happiness.
Roger Saulson, MD
"I am only 54 years old I have cataracts in both eyes. I had surgery on October 28 with Dr. Roger Saulson. He was extremely gentle and kind and Answered all of my questions. He also called me the night of my surgery to see how I was doing which I thought was very nice just for a cataract surgery. I have severe anxiety and have a hard time getting them so they took me to the surgery center and gave me a conscious sedation and I don't remember a thing. He made me very at ease!! Any time I have called this office for any question I have been called back immediately. I would recommend him to anyone seeking cataract surgery! Thank you Dr.Saulson!"
"This is the greatest Eye Health facility I've ever visited. My doctor, Dr. Saulson, treats me with respect and takes all the time needed to answer my questions and complete the exam. He makes sure that my eye health is of the utmost importance. I've had to wait in the waiting room a bit longer at times but it is definitely worth the wait. It only means that the doctor's are spending quality time with their patients. I also want to add that the supporting staff is just as efficient with a kind manner."
I HAVE ALWAYS HAD GOOD RESULTS EVERY TIME I HAVE GONE TO BE SEEN BY MY EYE SPECIALISTS!!! I APPRECIATE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF MY NEEDS!!!!
